Futility Of Powdered Moth Wings

Some fathers are like moths —
full of vigor; as they fly
tapping out Morse-code
messages against
the fragile
glass panes of life;
until one day, they fall
upon window sill deathbeds.
Futility of powdered moth wings:
fail some fathers with cancer,
and others, with motorcycles.

  1. A beautiful tribute to your beloved Dad and friend!!! Life isn’t always fair nor willing to meet our expectations, to be sure! Wonderful verse! We lost my brother at the age of 25 and it’s not something a parent ever expects, nor did I! Thank you for sharing this with us, My Friend!!
