The Path

Night was with child, that birthed a new day,
when I, as dawn wakened, began my way.
I walk accompanied by a hundredfold souls
finding wisdom on paths upon which I stroll.

For countless echoes from this journey springs,
hangs of life’s single, and silken, fragile string.
I can rise and ponder beyond knowledge of man,
and defy limitations set by time’s second hand.

Poets share these secrets within written words,
unfolding them like wings of sleeping birds.
From the bounty of Nature, these secrets unlock,
among listening trees, the hushed path, I walk.

  1. I often derive inspiration from such walks myself. It’s been incredibly cold where I live, so my walks have ceased. I can hardly wait for Spring so I can get back to this on the regular.

I appreciate being able to slip into that place again through this piece.

  2. Beautiful. I often take walks in nature and this really resonated with me. I’ll remember it on my next walk: “From the bounty of Nature, these secrets unlock,
among listening trees, the hushed path, I walk”
